- צִיפְיָא f. (צָפָה; cmp. Syr. צפיותא, P. Sm. 3429) clearness, the liquid parts of honey cells. Sot.48b דבש הבא מן הצ׳ the honey which comes from the inner portions of the cells (= נופת צופים), v. נוֹפֶת; Y. ib. IX, 24b bot. דבש הבא בצִפְיָיה honey which comes in a state of clearness.
